HOW WE GOT HERE

Built from a love for people and a habit of baking for them.

Stud Muffins started small, grew on wheels, and eventually found a home in Dorr. Every chapter has been shaped by the same desire: help people feel valued, serve them generously, and make something worth sharing.

MEET ASHLEY & KRIS

Ashley began baking as a creative outlet while working full time. What started on the side kept growing because she loved the work and the people it brought into her life. Eventually, she took the leap and turned that part-time venture into a full-time business.

Kris joined the adventure, and together they moved Stud Muffins from a home-based bakery to a food truck and then into the brick-and-mortar cafe and bakery at 1668 142nd Ave in Dorr. Kris is a veteran, which makes their relationship with a veteran-owned Michigan coffee roaster especially meaningful.

Today, the cafe gives the original vision a place to settle in. It is a place for breakfast before work, coffee with a friend, lunch with the kids, a box of pastries for the office, and desserts that help mark life’s celebrations.

What Guides Us

For he satisfies the thirsty soul and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:9

Psalm 107:9 has always expressed something close to the heart of Stud Muffins. Food can fill a table, but generous hospitality can reach further. We want people to leave well fed, well cared for, and reminded that they matter.

SCRATCH-MADE AND CLOSE TO HOME

We make our baked goods from scratch and source fresh, local ingredients whenever possible. We also look for ways to support other small businesses, including the veteran-owned roaster in Bellaire, Michigan, that supplies our coffee beans.

Come see what the story became.

We would love to welcome you into the cafe, learn your name, and send you home with something good.
